“Go direct to a butchers, they’ll be cheaper.”
Dude cuts the meats then tells me it costs a damn fortune, thanks fucker. (Heads up would’ve been nice)
Today I am on the side of big business.
Well it’s nearly 1 in the afternoon, I should get up before sitting on my floor trying to come up with character names while playing Borderlands 2.
I could be there a while…
I’m starting to worry about myself a little. I’ve been getting sad when things end, like films or books, maybe I should get something more going on in my life so I don’t invest myself as heavily in what I’m watching, or reading.
As I’m now working on my birthday, and every day after it for a while, I’ve decided that this weekend will be my surrogate birthday.
Today has been well spent, I cracked open my PS3 and started setting it all up (with free Playstation Plus and LoveFilm, which is nice) and bought the THQ Humble Bundle. So in short I’ve got a buttload of games to keep me entertained for the near future. (also I bought FTL last night its awesome but hella difficult)
So conflicted.
New Deadpool #1 is out (or coming out not sure how close we are, release-wise, in the UK) but I haven’t finished the last series because theĀ volume 11 trade is just taking forever to come out.
Tumblr, what do I do? Do I skip ahead and suffer the spoilers or do I wait?! HELP ME?
I’ve been getting very excited over the last few days about getting my internet connection activated tomorrow…
But I just considered that were my connection getting activated tomorrow my router would have arrived already *sinking feeling* to query this I checked my activation e-mail….
The connection isnt active until NEXT tuesday, i must’ve misread the e-mail partly from excitement (and because no one would leave me alone last week) but mostly because I’m a fucking idiot.
This is going to be a nightmare; booking Dark Knight Rises tickets is now going to be a bitch, my job hunt is going slow right down, and I’m going to continue to only get online through my phone. I know half of those arent that big of deals but theyd make this whole transition so much more comfortable.
At the moment my film course is putting on a little festival; Pixelate. I’ve been getting very involved (I helped together the screenwriters exhibit and this afternoon got to chair a writing Q&A with James Henry) it’s not even the second night and it’s already a massive highlight of my year, or my entire university experience.

Just saw Prometheus…
…and people are wrong, they are far too hard on it. It’s a very good movie.
[I will note that most people are saying it bad because it failed to live up to their individual expectations, that’s not the films fault that’s your own.]
Admittedly there are some plot holes, silly science stuff (sound in space was one that bothered me) and it does jump the shark a little at the end. But all of that doesn’t equal a bad film, especially when it’s competing with elements such as a very good cast (Fassbender nailed it as David, almost stole the show) and a cool visual style (even the 3D was good, well passable a couple of shots worked with it, like the map table thing.) although the story is a little pfft but holds resonance within it’s context (it’s not a direct prequel to Alien but is within the same galaxy and contains crossover elements.)
But what a really impressed with was the tension, it was perfect. I was genuinely scared multiple times(*), and that doesn’t usually happen for me in films (occasionally I’ll get anxious about cringey films but never actually scared, I had to lock myself into a sitting pose so I wouldn’t jump at those surprise moments.)
It’s definitely worth your time, a very enjoyable film. But reign in your expectations it obviously wasn’t going be the greatest cinematic release because they all made that, it’s called Back to the Future.
[Edit: Also honestly, I wouldn’t be against seeing more space-age surgery in 3D.]
Just read that those photos were not of Iron Patriot but of the War-Machine armour branded. Phew.
If they had tried to crowbar in the Dark reign stuff but without Osborn it would’ve been a Spider-Man 3 level of train wreck.
I’m still a little nervous about the four (?) villains in the film, especially with the Extremis plot. But I still trust Shane Black to deliver something pretty incredible.
